This video will focus on your group retirement savings plan through myHorizon.
It will provide an overview of the program and will help you find the specific information about your account that you may need including: plan details, investment options, and the tools and support available through Canada Life and myHorizon.
First of all – Welcome to your plan through MyHorizon & Canada Life.
As you begin your investment journey with your group plan, it is your responsibility that your plan is working for you to achieve your financial goals. You are responsible for selecting an appropriate investment within your group plan.
It is always recommended that you seek the advice of a financial professional for investment advice and recommendations should you need help.
Through the MyHorizon program, there are plenty of resources tools and information available to help you with your plan.
Let's start your journey by reviewing where to find details about your plan.
Your retirement savings program may offer different types of accounts to help you save for retirement.
It is important you are aware of the benefits of saving in a particular account and what is available to you within your specific plan.
To learn more about your specific account types available within your plan, please reach out to your HR representative, call myHorizon or download your plan booklet on the website.
To review the personal group retirement savings plan account, you will need to login to myHorizon.ca .
Click Sign In and enter your Access ID and password credentials that you created during the enrolment and registration of your
account.
Through this site, there are resources, articles and videos to support your journey and make the most of your group plan.

If you need to speak with a customer service representative to take action on your plan, please call myHorizon assistance at 1-833-253-0379
To review your existing accounts, personal rates of return and investment holdings for your plan, go to the Your Portfolio page under Savings once signed in. This page will provide the details of your account you will need when reviewing your plan. There are also links to the other functions of the site you may need when managing your accounts.
Under Info Centre, you can access financial literacy information to make informed decisions about your plan.
Under Learning Centre, you can access an investment personality questionnaire, financial articles and videos.
Under Fund reviews and fees, you can download fund reports that provide details to each of the investments available to you within the group plan and the Investment Management fees charged for each investment.
To review the details about your company group retirement savings plan offering, it is highly recommended to download your member booklet. This will outline the account types available,contribution and withdrawal and other important details about your plan.
It is important to understand the investment options available to you through the MyHorizon program.
Lets review the investment strategies available and considerations in choosing a strategy which is best for you.
There are two investment strategy approaches that are offered when choosing an investment portfolio within the MyHorizon program.
A No touch approach is offered through the Blackrock Lifepath Target Date Fund series. A high touch approach involves picking and choosing invidual investments to build a custom portfolio of funds available.

Target Date funds are based on the philosophy that as we approach retirement, we should reduce our exposure to risk. These are a series of funds available in 5-year increments that align with one’s retirement year. Each fund holds a mix of different types of investments and becomes moreconservative over time.

Your plan also offers a range of individual funds for you to choose from.
When building a portfolio within your group plan. It is recommended to go to myhorizon.ca and complete an investment personality questionnaire.
You can review each of the investments available through the Fund reviews and fees section of the site.
When you ready to make changes to your portfolio, there are 2 ways to update your account. Either online through myHorizon.ca or call us at 1-833-253-0379 to complete investment changes over the phone.
It is easy to make updates to your account online, should your financial objectives change,
To update how future investment contributions will be allocated, go to the investment instructions section under manage portfolio within the savings tab of the site.
To change your existing investment holdings, go to the fund-to-fund transfer section.

As a plan member, you have access to all kinds of services and support to ensure you’re on the right track to achieving your financial goals.
Remember, login to your account through myHorizon.ca.
Once logged in, the site has a lot of important information about your plan.
The summary tile will provide your total balance in your plan and a breakdown of contributions you have made, contributions your employer has made and how much of your balance is comprised of investment growth.
There is also a breakdown of your balance per account held within your group plan. Click on each account type to view more details about your account like investment holdings, rates of return and more.
You can set a retirement goal to understand if you are on track to meet your retirement goals. This goal tool will incorporate projected
government benefits, your retirement budget, saving within your group plan and personal saving to help you understand where you are today and what actions you may want to consider to stay on track.
Lastly, if you need to take further action on your plan you can navigate the site through the action pane on the far left of the page.
There are many ways for you to connect with your MyHorizon plan.
